What if my home does not have an EPC?
If your property does not appear in the results, it has not been assessed yet. Around 15% of UK homes have never had an EPC. Without one, you cannot:
- ✗Sell or rent your property (a valid EPC is legally required)
- ✗Apply for most energy grants (EPC is a prerequisite)
- ✗Know where you are losing heat and money
An EPC assessment takes about an hour and typically costs £65 to £100. A qualified assessor visits your home, checks the insulation, heating, windows, and more, then produces a certificate valid for 10 years.
